28 WEEKS LATER


      28 Weeks Later is one of the superb films I have watched so far.It is a horror movie and according to IMDB;its score is 7.0/10.This movie was maked by Juan Carlos both Spain and Britain in 2007.

      In this horror film,Don and Alice is in a house as defectors with other survıors after the virus attack controlling Britain.Nevertheles;not only Don and Alice but also other defectors know that infected people will come at any time.Recently a short period of time infected people find their place.Everbody are killed.Alice is in a pickle and Don can not help her so he escapes as soon as possible to save his own life.

     After a while,both Don and his children start a new life in a liberated zone in London.His childen have been abroad for a while so they have not been affected by virus attack.And also neither Don  nor his childen suffer from intected people in liberated zone because this region is guarded by American soldiers.          

However;there is something wrong with Don.He neither could tell  the truth his children nor  prevent them from going to their old house.Chldren come across with their mother Alice there.But at the same time,the soldiers pursing them reach Alice.It is mystery how Alice have not been affected from the virus.Affected people either can not find her or she has some antibody in her blood.Some doctors want to research on this and experiment on Alice.At this time,Don learn the situation and go to Alice.However;Don is affected from the virus when he kisses her.Following this,the virus spread in the liberated zone rapidly.As a result ,danger
comes from not only affected people but also soldiers who are dedicated to eradicate everybody eihter affected or unaffected from the virus.

 

                                              
                                                    EMINEM-WHEN I'M GONE

        Eminem tells us a thought provoking story in this song called "When I'm Gone". A father and his little daughter who is on the point of losing him..And of course, Eminem's late awareness and girl's great sadness.. As a father,Eminem is not aware of his ignorance towards his little daughter.Every time she wants to speak her father and tells him something interesting for her,he is busy with composing a song and also he doesn't allow enough time for her. Many times,he promises to her not to leave her and her mother for anything else. However;none of them becomes true.Every time Eminem forgets his promises and leaves them. "But you ain't leaving no more,Daddy, you're mine."She's piling boxes in front of the door trying to block it." This lines affects me very much.They express the despair of little girl.This girl tries every possible ways to persuade his father not to go any more.She loves her father very much in spite of his ignorance and empty promises. Eminem makes real his dreams and songs his sings to sixty thousand people in his dream in the other lines.Every thing is perfect till he sees his daughter among the audience.Now;he is not the one who leaves his family but the one leaved by his family.The girl reminds him that he made his choice and his choice was a famous,full of fan life not his family. Fortunately;all of the bad events are just a dream.Eminem has a chance to change his life get a smile to her daughter's lips. However;what would happen If this weren't just a dream??

ABOUT I BRAIN METU The latest slogan of METU is "I brain METU".However;I can't say that I like this slogan very much.It is too short to explain the soul of METU for me.For instance; When I hear or think about this slogan,I can't image anything that belongs to only this university or its students.As someone hears a slogan about METU,he/she should want to a METU person.I mean that It should the slogan must be remarkable,affective.It should pulsate in people.After hearing the slogan,they should want to look at METU,the life there,the differences between METU and other universities. If I were to design a slogan for METU again,I would choose "METU people do not accept any borders or limitations."In life,we come up aganist many limitations. Sometimes we can avoid from them but generally we can not find enough power in ourselves.However;this situation is completely different in METU people. They don not accept limitations or borders under no circumstances.There is no word for borders in the dictionary of them.If I were to design a slogan,I would want to highlight this before all else.In this way;I can generate interest in people towards METU and express the soul of METU.

THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS The Pursuit Of Happiness is one of the most impressive film that I have watched so far.This film makes a statement for humankind.Struggle for happiness.Trust yourself.One day,bad days will pass away. The film can be summarized like this way in short.Chris Gardner(Will Smith)is a family man who tries to make ends meet for a long time.Even though he struggles to support his family,his 5 year-old son (Christopher Gardner)'s mother is hopeless. She doesn't believe that happy days will come after bad days eventually. When she understands that she can not stand this situation any more,she leaves home unwillingly.From now on;Chris is alone and he have to get a job earns much more by using all of the business skill he knows.In the end,he finds a probationer-ship in a publicly-traded company.Although he doesn't get any wage he hopes to get a job and a good future for himself and his son at the end of the program.Over time,Chris and his son start to have some difficulties materially.They are excelled from home by their homeowner.As a result of this,they stay overnight everywhere they can find like asylum, bus stop,toilet.In spite of all trouble,Chris continues to fulfill his parental duties with great care and affection and he benefits from his son love and trust for him.He uses them to cope with unhappy days.. After watching this film,I have understood that my some gloomy days are so trivial in fact.I should look for ways to be happy even in the worst days.

AN IDEAL UNIVERSITY

"How is an ideal university like to me?" This is the one thing that I would want to answer. According to my criteria, an ideal university should provide a wealth of amenities for students including sports halls, recreational areas , proper campus transportation and so on. This is to give students the convenience of using them. Moreover, they should be free so that students can benefit from these facilities sufficiently. I think,preparing us for the exam or helping us to get a job should not be the only goal of an ideal university. Other than these aims, an ideal university should make us think powerfully. After our education at the university, we should gain the ability to analyze and to produce new and different ideas. An ideal university should not teach us how we should choose one option over the rest as in exams. Rather, it should teach us life lessons in helping us deal with choices in the future. In short, it should prepare us for the "real life". The next question is whether or not METU is an ideal university. I can say so many things about this topic. Yes ,METU is an ideal university. According to my own observations, teachers at METU want to teach us "how we can learn what we need" In other words,we can say that "learn how to learn". We are taught to find the information ourselves, think about issues ,analyze them, instead of just merely copy and paste what we find. In fact, these skills are what we need to change some things and develop our talents. I have been at METU just for a month, but I think METU's aim is not about teaching us to choose between options in an exam.Rather, its aim is in developing the character of its students so that they are ready to face the world next time. The aims of METU matches my criteria of an ideal university. As I embark on my journey as a METU student, I hope to in the end grow into a strong individual with qualities that METU would instill in me to face the challenges of the world.

BEING A STUDENT AT METU

When I was in high school,I didn't like METU and Ankara at all. There was just one option for me:BOSPHORUS UNIVERSITY. I strongly thought that METU was not appropriate for me. Furthermore, Ankara was not the most ideal of cities for me to live in and continue my education because to its harsh weather conditions. However, as I stepped into METU, my thoughts about METU and Ankara changed completely. I now no longer think that I would regret choosing METU for my education and future. Only after a few days coming to METU,I understood my prejudgments about it were very wrong and nonsensical. I would like toexplain this with some examples. Firstly, I am happy to be a student at METU because of the great respect students get here. In campus, regardless of what position someone is holding and how old they are, everybody is respectful to students. So far, I have never come across any disrespectful behavior from anyone. Whenever I ask a question to somebody, she/he gives me not only the answer to the question but also some other information about METU like location of building,dormitory and so on.Everybody at METU is friendly and very helpful. Apart from these beautiful nature of the people here, METU also has a splendid campus. It is almost full of trees. Everywhere is green and I can even see species of birds that I have never seen before. One small problem though is the problem of transportation.Going from one place to another is sometimes very difficult. More often than not,the buses in campus are full.That's why;from time to time, we have to walk to wherever we want to go. Walking can be time consuming and very exhausting given the large METU campus . My other problem at METU is to find places. At first,all of the places looked the same to me.I got lost many times and have to walk for hours. However now I'm getting used to this. To sum up,I think being a student at METU,so far,has been superb. And I'm sure that It will be the same for the next four years.I'm happy at METU.
